Week 43 - This is the Place

Dad's work had a party at This is the Place in Salt Lake City. So we went to enjoy the heat and pioneer ways of life. I seriously don't think I could have enjoyed life as a pioneer and am so glad to have been born 100+ years later.

We enjoyed a fun lunch with Dad's coworkers and then explored the town. Dad tried to rob a bank which didn't go over so well. We looked into how we would live in a little hut and decided we were very glad to have our own rooms. We peaked into the windows of some of the houses that were closed and decided it would have been more fun to be rich then poor back then, too bad most were poor.

Then we took an air conditioning break and watched the Native American dancing. I don't think the Native Americans ever entertained the pioneers with their dancing but it was fun for us to be entertained, and air conditioned.

You were way past ready for a nap so spent some time nursing and playing on mommy's lap with a paci.

Oh those tired eyes.

Here are the dancers, all real Native Americans who compete in Pow Wows across the USA. It was fun to watch and educational.

We then headed to the petting zoo, which would be more fun if you cared about petting animals and had had a nap. Instead Dad acted like the child which was also entertaining.
Milking a cow!

Apparently none of these pigs are pregnant... Poor things have an eating problem. I know the feeling.

Henry wasn't sure what to think of this goat

As long as you had your paci you didn't care what you saw

OR almost touched.

The mini pony

Sheep!

After the petting area we went on a train ride and then decided to head home before we died of no nap and heat exhaustion.
