Bedtime routine and night time: Around 8-9 PM we start the bedtime routine which include a bath (not every night) and lotion massage (every night). You love to have your toes tickled and smile while a rub lotion on your little body. You also started noticing the light on mom's bedroom ceiling and smile a lot at it. I sing you Primary songs as I change your diaper, put you in jammies, and wrap you up in the sleep sack. I nurse you while reading or singing to you. You still liked being swaddled for bedtime so I wrap you up in an Aden and Anais blanket (from Grammy, its like she hugs you every night) and rock you. As I lay you in your crib I sing you a song that will always remind me of my Grandpa Graves.
You normally wake up 1-2 times per night to eat. Surprisingly your diaper stays dry almost all night long and then in the morning you take care of business.
Naps: For your first nap of the day you fall asleep next to mommy in her bed. I normally read or nap with you while you sleep. You take about 4 naps a day and prefer to be held or sitting in your carseat wrapped up to sleep.
Temperament: You are a happy baby boy. You have started to give out more smiles and laughter for us. The other day you laughed at mom while she was eating ice cream, the spoon was too funny! You also laughed at dad while he took off his coat, so dad put his coat on and off a couple times to keep you laughing. You like to not be alone and keep an eye on me when I walk in and out of the room. You do have a crying time of night but we are working on that, I think sometimes you need to go to bed earlier.
Milestones- You found your hands and have spent a few days staring at them. You also have found you have a voice and spend lots more time talking to us. I love how you make a garglely growly cooing sound. You also laugh at your mobile in high pitch squeals. You also learned how to roll from your tummy to your back but haven't figured out the other way. I think you are going to figure it out soon because when you lie in bed with mommy you always find a way right next to my chest and on your side.
Likes: Since finding your hand you are always sticking them in your mouth to suck on them, so far you can only fit your index and middle finger with a little of the thumb. You also love sucking on you arm if it gets close. While out for a walk with mom in the Moby Wrap you gave yourself a hickey on your arm! Henry loves his mobile, jungle mat, bouncer, and watching the computer screen while sitting with dad when he is working. You also love the little link toys I put on your carseat.
Dislikes: You do not like your swing or napping all by yourself in your crib (but you will nap in mommy's bed).
We did an unofficial weight check and you were 13.5 lbs! The below pictures aren't great but that is because it was bedtime and you had just had a relaxing bath and wanted to sleep!
