Henry you are 15 months old! Everything in life is getting more and more interesting for you.
Stats:
Diapers: Size 4 diaper
Clothes: Size 12-18 month
Weight: 22 lbs (30%)
Height: 31.4 inches (50%)
Head: 18.2 inches (30%)
Shoes: just switched to size 4, bye-bye cute Jack and Lillly shoes :(
Naps: 2 most days for 1 hour each. Some days its a short morning and a long afternoon
Car seat: Rear facing (until tomorrow :))
Teeth: 12! Front 8 + 4 molars
Words:
Dad, Daddy, cracker, car, sock, and sometimes mama
Signs:
Please, all done, water (indian sound), paci (fist patting mouth), milk, pretzel (index finger points and bends), clapping, bye-bye, mom (rubbing cheek), more, and blowing kisses with a raspberry sound.
Favorite foods: nothing. You no longer enjoy eating and eat like a bird. You do drink milk but it takes ALL morning to get down 8 oz. So you still get nursed as well. Somedays you like string cheese, pretzels, yogurt, chicken rice, pomegranates, and kix cereal. Other days you spit everything out.
Favorite toys: anything with wheels. You love Thomas, a police car, tool bench, balls to throw and kick, and your dog dream lite. Ever since you figured out you can push the dream lite button on your own, you are one happy camper
You also love to point at stuff, fold your arms for prayer, and can find your ears and hair. You can find mom's nose but not your own just yet.
This month we went through re-sleep training you. It was a joy- NOT! The first day you cried for 40 minutes at your naps and then slept for 30 minutes. Night time you cried for 30 minutes. Day 2 was awesome but Day 3 was the worst. We had a week of awesome going-to-sleep-on-our-own before you got a nasty cold with a fever. The coughing, fever, congestion but us back into a world of being held and sleeping on mom. Near the end of the month we cried a lot before bed again. I guess with us, falling asleep will always be a battle. I fear the day that Mr. Paci goes bye-bye forever.
Another adventure with you has been your ability to climb everything. You can get up on the chairs and the coffee table, the fire place is a piece of cake! You really want to get on the couch but it is a little too high. You know how to get off high things but "turning around" and going feet first but the excitement of jumping has recently entered your mind. When you get off the bed you try to catch the bed frame with your toes so you can hang for a while. Boxes are not for playing in but for climbing on top of. You are so proud of yourself when you do a hard thing.
You want to go downstairs all day long. You stand at the railing and yell "daddy" since that is where dad works at night. You look at the stairs and sign "please." If I say "downstairs" you know right where to go. Currently we can't attach a gate properly to block the stairs so we use the kitchen chairs. The day will come when you realize you can climb under them or push them out of the way. Until then...bliss! The other great thing about our railing is that you can throw things down the stairs all day long. Baby food jars are a favorite because they make the best sound. Other things dropped have been my shoes, paci, toys, bubble wrap, books, newspapers, sippy cups, etc. Gravity is always a fun concept to learn.
As always, we love you! You and dad are becoming better friends with nighttime wrestling and occasionally dad has put you to bed. You were babysat by a few people this month and some experiences were better than others. We learned that if mom sneaks away that is best, which is contrary to what I want to do. I want you to know that if I say "bye-bye" that I will come back! I don't want you to think that I'm just sometimes out of your sight. But mom and dad needed a date so that is what we did.
You are a good boy. I'm proud of all the things you are learning. I love you every second of every day.
<3 Mom
