Week 22- 5 months Old

Henry you are five months old! This has been the best five months of motherhood I think to have ever existed. Of course life isn't always easy but is sure is fun.

I forgot to take pictures with the Moose and the paper sign. These will have to do...

Your unofficial weight is 16.5 lbs, you wear 6 month clothes and size 2 diapers

You continue to babble and talk and are much more free with your giggles and smiles. You also found your toes and love to talk to them.

You still love to nurse more than anything in the world (slight exaggeration). We've tried feeding you baby food and cereal and you haven't liked any of it too much. You have tried squash, sweet potatoes, rice cereal, oatmeal cereal, and apple sauce. You don't really like the spoon in your mouth by you like opening your mouth when mom and dad are eating. Dad tried giving you a bottle the other day and you choked and gagged like it was poison. You had to wait 4 hours for mom to come home and feed you. You ate like you were starving to death, it made me smile and love this little phase of life we are in.

Your sleeping is getting better, but it is not great or consistent. You've gone as long as 8 hours but stick around the 5 hour mark most nights. Since you started napping alone you sleep for about 30-45 minutes and then you are awake for 1.5 hours. You started going to bed between 7 and 8 PM and wake up between 7 and 9 AM (of course you get up a few times inbetween to eat). You fall asleep with your paci and then spit it out when I lay you in your crib.

You love to chew on your fingers. Your poor index finger takes the brunt of the chewing. Not sure if you are teething or just like to chew on your chubby fingers. You also chew on anyone else's fingers that get close which makes everyone laugh.

You are sitting up more and more all the time. You can only last a few seconds by yourself. You definitely like seeing the world from an up right position as opposed to reclined and relaxed. You like to see out rather than be cuddled in all the time as well. You spend lots of time on your side and still haven't figured how to get from your back to your belly. You also like being on your belly less than before.

You have started to like games like Peek-a-boo and smile when we walk closer to you and frown when I walk away. Occasionally you've cried when I've left the room with you in someone else's arms. You still love your mobile but prefer the bumbo so you can see what's happening.

You do your best talking to daddy, especially when he comes to see you in the morning before going to work. Once you get your first sight of me you are whimpering for food like you haven't eaten in years.

I'll love you forever, I'll love you for always, My baby you'll be!
Love, Mommy
