We headed up to Holly and Matt's house to celebrate Christmas with the Naumann side of the family. It was seriously a blast. We again ate yummy food and laughed a lot. I really do love the family parties we have each year. Especially since so many of us have become busy or live out of state it is nice to have a reason to slow down and catch up with one another. There are also more and more little ones at the party every year. Henry really enjoyed the other kids to play with and I could see his mind trying to figure out how to jump and climb just like the big kids.
One of the highlights was when Matt provided our family's year in review. He mentioned that Henry can walk now and right on cue Henry walked into the middle of everyone and then clapped for himself. It was cute and hilarious at the same time. Everyone was so surprised, myself included! If Henry is anything like his daddy this is just the first of many hammy moments.
We played Four Men on the Couch with a lot of cheating this year which resulted in the girls winning all 3 rounds and the boys feeling like sour-cheated-on-losers. Not our best performance but we had a lot of laughs and still enjoyed ourselves.
With the family growing each year and others moving to find their place in the world, I'm sure we won't always get to be all together. But we enjoy the time we have to be together and hope for a chance again in the future. Sadly I didn't take a single picture! Just imagine a family room full of little ones, lots of laughter, and high hopes for the future.
