I didn't do an update at 13 months, sorry Henry. I also didn't do a photo montage at 14th months. But I do have some facts about Henry.
You wear size 9-12 clothes, I'm switching to 12-18 in the very near future. For the most part your legs are a little short for the pants but the shirts fit great. You wear size 3 or 4 shoes. My favorite are these cute Jack and Lily shoes
You are in size 4 diapers and will be staying here for a while. You do NOT like to have your bum changed ever.
You take 1 nap most days and 2 naps if we play a lot with friends. You sleep through the night, except while we are on vacation. Lately, our night time routine is bath, jammies, nursing, snuggle and songs with mom, then bed with a paci and blanket. You often fall asleep on mom during the snuggle and song portion of the evening.
You refused to drink cow milk at the beginning of the month and pretty much every time we offered it to you until about Christmas Eve. Now we are working on knowing how much milk vs water to give you during the day. Some days you are super whiny so I nurse you on demand. Other days you only get to nurse in the morning and the night. My recipe for success was simple to give up on you ever wanting to stop nursing. I realized the day will come and we will just keep offering you new things. Change comes slowly for you at times.
You are going through phases of eating a lot and then eating nothing at all. Not sure if this is just related to growth spurts or also related to the molars you have been cutting. As of 14 months you have 8 teeth plus 3 molars. The 4th molar keeps making its debut but refuses to break the surface. You have started to chew your paci on the side of your mouth with the missing bottom molar. Reminds me of Aunt Kellie as a baby.
You have a few vocal words: Dada (used often), Mama (used sparingly), and sock. You sign the following: more, all done, and please (on my chest not yours). You point a lot to the things you want, you shake your head no when we guess wrong and smile and giggle when we guess correctly. When you want water you make Indian sounds with your fist and your mouth rather than the real sign. It is cute. Dad is working on teaching you how to find ears, eyes, and noses AND to fold your arms during the prayer.
Your favorite foods are pretzels, bananas, yogurt, sweet potatoes, pomegranates, and gold fish crackers.
Your favorite toy has become trains, you now have 3 and we always know where they are. You also really like your tool bench, lady bug book, octopus teething toy, magnetic alphabet letters, and your new dog nightlight/pillowpet.
You are becoming more of a daddy's boy and love to chase and wrestle with dad. You give me hugs and kisses randomly throughout the day, some of my favorite moments. You like to read books and point at the different things in the pictures. Sometimes, when you see a horse or dog you make a neigh and a arf sound. My favorite is the arf when you see a dog because it doesn't stop.
This month I have noticed that you have developed your own opinion about things and that we are learning how to best communicate with each other. I hope I can steer your strong will in the correct direction and that I can teach you what is right. I don't want to be a push over mom who lets you get away with terror and destruction at home. So we are working on boundaries and having fun. I've started incorporating some learning time into every day to help you expand your horizons. We love you Henry and always will.
