Week 5 - 1 Month Old
Like all moms, I can't believe how quickly that first month flew by and how much you have already grown!. On your birthday you weighted just about 9lbs. Aunt Jordan measured your arm from the nap of your neck and it was 8.5 inches long - she needed measurements for a Christmas present for Uncle Austin and measuring everyone seemed like the easiest and sneakiest way to get what she needed.
At 1 month old you had been sleeping in the pack-n-play in mom and dad's room. You got up every 3 hours during the night to eat and were pretty good about going back to sleep after eating. The exception being if you had a rough time going to the bathroom while nursing. You have been a great eater so far and continue to grow.
You have been pretty particular about giving out your smiles. Most of the smiles so far have been accompanied by gas which makes me wonder if you knew you were smiling or not- I like to think you were :) When laid down to play you kick and swing your arms around like crazy. You spend a lot of time looking from side to side and not really focusing on any one thing. You make the cutest "o" with your lips quite frequently, it always makes me smile. During the day you prefer to nap while being help by mom or in your car seat. So I spend most of the day snuggling you and hearing you sigh in your sleep and occasionally smile in your sleep. You still get the hiccups a couple times a week which always reminds me of when I was pregnant and you would hiccup. You don't burp very often but when you do it is BIG. You have only spit up a few times and don't get too fussy. On the morning of your 1 month birthday you somehow got your thumb into your month and then made the funniest-grossed-out face wondering WHAT was in your mouth! So smart.
I love you my 1 month old.
