12/8/12 - Santa and Christmas Lights

Santa was at Macey's and Henry was not happy about it. We were at the front of the store and Henry screamed so suddenly you could hear the cashiers gasp and look over. Of course I just laughed! What kind of awful mother am I to let my child cry and take a picture? Santa was good natured of course and kept giggling. Henry 100% calm once Santa backed away and I picked him up. But this picture here is a memory and a funny one at that!

Later in the evening I was mad because I couldn't find the cute holiday stamps I purchased. We looked all over and they were no where to be found! Especially frustrating because I recently purged every nook and cranny of our home to get things more organized (FAIL). I had a goal to have our cards sent out before Christmas and didn't want to buy more stamps. But with plenty of time until the 25th, we decided to leave the house and go see Christmas lights.

Thanks to the trusty website Christmas Light Finder, we found two houses that were sure to please. The first house was the best!

It had a HUGE snowman taller than the home and Santa with Mrs. Clause waving at everyone. The lights danced to the music, there was a fire to keep warm, and we loved it. Henry on the other hand didn't love it so much from his rear facing car seat. If it wasn't so cold I would have brought him out, maybe next weekend?
The second house was a lot like Clark Griswald's but with about half as many lights and all being colored lights. No music, no live Santa, and no dancing lights. However, there were a lot of lights and it did look very pretty.
