2/21/13 - Funk Cookie

How can I be in a funk when I live with this cutie? Henry smiles when you say "cheese" which is of course adorable. We sent this picture to grammy and papa right before they left on a cruise, hoping they wouldn't want to leave us behind! Next time maybe? Well life has felt pretty blah lately. There isn't really one thing or an event or problem that made it blah. It just is BLAH! I lack the desire to do anything and everything. So I force myself to make huge daily to-do lists and complete them in hopes that I won't seem blah and maybe the blah will go away. Today I needed to make cookies for some girls in my ward. Henry napped through most of the baking but woke up just in time to see cookies in the oven. He always looks in the oven for cookies since I made them once before. What better for lunch then warm, oatmeal chocolate chip cookies?

Henry was in cookie heaven. He couldn't stop giggling and talking. He thought everything was funny and he wanted more cookies, which I gave him.

In my mind, he had chocolate EVERYWHERE! On his face, hair, socks, clothes, hands, and table. It reminded me of this picture my mom has of Steven Sessions. Steven was about Henry's age and COVERED in chocolate pudding. He had the biggest, silliest grin on his face. I can't remember how old Steven was compared to me, I just know he came over sometimes to play and that there is this silly pudding picture of him. Then, I remembered that Steven died as a toddler when a drunk driver hit his stroller. And with that memory, my blah feelings ended. I have this amazing little boy in my home making silly messes and giggling for no reason. I have so much to be happy about! I have even more things to be grateful for! So with that, my blah feelings disappeared. I decided we are going to make more silly messes and have more slobbery kisses just because. So I would like to thank the yummy oatmeal cookies, Henry's silly giggles, a wonderful neighbor who called in the middle of all this and made me laugh, as well as the memory of a wonderful boy for helping me get moving again.

Henry asked for water after his cookies and then make a water park out of his tray. He did not like having we shirt sleeves. After lunch, we took a bath!
