These pics are a bit out of order. WE went to Provo to see Austin participate in Fireman Games at the UVU Emergency Services building as part of his graduation from RCA. It was fun to watch the competitons (see videos below).
The current RCA students competed against alumni in 9 events. Naturally the current students kicked but and won. It was super fun to watch! Every event Austin participated it resulted in a WIN! Henry liked watching Austin pull the fire trucks, he did not like the dressing race (I think the fireman full gear made him nervous), he liked playing on the fire truck and fire truck wheels, he did not like his mom cheering loudly.
If given his way, Henry could have played on the trucks, walked around them, touched the wheels, and sat in the cab the entire afternoon. He was in little boy heaven.
It was really fun to see Austin doing what he has learned over the last 16 weeks. From the stories I have heard, RCA is like boot camp! I was really impressed at the courage these guys have to be life savers! A couple weeks ago they had a family day where people could come watch the students put out a fire. We were unable to go but say videos during graduation that were really cool.
We are excited for Austin to continue learning and working towards his dream job. He is a great firefighter already!
These videos are SUPER loud so you might want to turn your volume off...
